Supervisor of Production

The Supervisor of Production is responsible of overseeing the equipment, staff and processes on the production floor. Will manage the production team, oversee scheduling and day-to-day production activities. The Supervisor of Production is primarily in  charge of ensuring the production line is operational and maintaining the ongoing production of products with the quality requests of our customers. The Supervisor of Production will also be responsible for troubleshooting any issues that arise.


  • Oversee the manufacturing and shipping processes and procedures in the production operations
  • Evaluating each station of the production process to maintain optimum efficiency
  • Enforcing all safety policies on the production floor
  • Creating and overseeing employees’ training to increase production, enhance safe operations and ensure profitability
  • Inspecting products for quality and accuracy prior to shipping
  • Maintaining communication between management and employees to ensure that necessary policies are understood and followed
  • Ensuring that the flow of resources like raw materials is maintained and that production items are delivered as needed and used properly and efficiently
  • Ability to create and adhere to effective schedules
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods on solid surfaces
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Firm understanding of safety regulations including OSHA and other applicable agencies
  • Ability to complete written reports legibly and accurately

  • Read and interpret work orders daily
  • Inform supervisor/department lead of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem
  • Ensure all working areas are kept clean, organized and safe during and at the end of shift
  • Eliminate or report any and all safety hazards to the Plant Manager
  • Adhere to all company rules and regulations
  • Adhere to company quality standards
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned

General and Task Management

  • Ensure that team members follow defined assembly procedures and comply with quality requirements
  • Ensure equipment is within calibration date and all systems are functioning correctly
  • Ensure that non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated
  • Ensure the team are aware of day to day targets and responsibilities
  • Monitor change over and/or line set up efficiency
  • Monitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools
  • Undertake continuous training and development with quality when scheduled through management
  • Daily declarations in ERP system (declaring departments may vary)

People Management

  • Ensure that team members follow defined assembly procedures and comply with quality requirements
  • Responsible for training of operators for products and processes within the local team
  • Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success
  • Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company procedures
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team, so each member  understands the standards/behaviours expected from them
  • Review, implement and update company records e.g. training matrices, absenteeism, risk assessments

Relationship Management

  • Work positively with support functions to fully define the processes/procedures/controls relevant to team activities. Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the team
  • Interface with Production Scheduling to determine schedules for shift production
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments and ensure an effective interface is maintained
  • Feedback to the Management team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process/ procedure improvements in order to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements and delivery in line with Company and Customer requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in lines of production
  • 5+ years of Experience in management staff
  • Good use of power tools and hand tools
  • Ability to stand for an eight-hour work shift

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions provided in written, oral or diagram forms
  • Attitude of “Safety first” by being proactive in general
  • Knowledge in ISO 9001
  • Knowledge in Six Sigma (Green Belt desirable)
