The Floating Seat: Innovation for the Paris Metro
One of our most significant projects focuses on the Paris Metro, where Clerprem applied its engineering know-how to redesign the “rear” intercity train seat, introducing an inverted cantilever system.
This solution, which anchors the seat directly to the wall, creates a striking visual effect — a “floating seat” design that appears to suspend effortlessly within the carriage.
Beyond aesthetics, the inverted cantilever provides easier cleaning, reduced material usage, lighter structural weight, and consequently lower CO₂ emissions.
It’s a solution that perfectly combines sustainability, functionality, and comfort — three pillars of Clerprem’s vision for the future of mobility.
