RECODE: How Clerprem Uses Art to Champion Gender Equality in Italian Schools

RECODE: Traces of Art, Voices of Women — When a Company Becomes a Driver of Cultural Change

March 8th is not a celebration. It’s a moment of awareness. That’s the belief behind Clerprem’s decision to bring RECODE: Traces of Art, Voices of Women into the ITIS De Pretto technical school in Schio — a pop-up art exhibition designed not to mark a date, but to spark a conversation.

A Project Born Inside the Company

RECODE is not a marketing campaign. It is the latest chapter of a journey Clerprem began in 2023, growing year after year in scope and ambition under the banner of #InViaggioControLaViolenza (In Journey Against Violence).

The Red Bench
The first milestone: red benches installed in Clerprem's outdoor company spaces, engraved with meaningful phrases and poetry in multiple languages. A quiet but powerful statement.

The Red Train Seats
Inside Clerprem's facilities, industrial railway seats — the company's own product — became a symbolic installation. Each empty seat represents an interrupted story, a collective invitation not to look away.

Art as Awareness.
The project deepened internally with a dedicated art exhibition for Clerprem's staff, creating space for reflection on gender-based violence within the workplace and reinforcing shared ethical values among colleagues.

Beyond Company Walls.
The most ambitious step yet: taking the project outside the company and into a school. Bringing this initiative to ITIS De Pretto means making a concrete investment in the local community and the next generation — turning a company experience into a shared cultural good.

The Exhibition: 25 Works, 5 Artists, One School

From March 10 to 23, 2026, the halls of the Istituto Tecnico Industriale Statale Silvio De Pretto in Schio hosted the pop-up art exhibition promoted by Clerprem.

25 works by 5 local women artists, united by a single thread: authentic female portraits, unfiltered. Not the woman as depicted by media, advertising, or social platforms — but the woman as she is, in her strength, complexity, and vision.

The five artists — Nina Müller, Barbara Bassignani, Chiara Calore, Elena Brazzale and Elisabetta Trevisan — each bring a distinct voice: illustration, product design, watercolour, architecture, figurative painting and hyperrealism. Five different artistic languages, one shared story: the female universe seen through authentic eyes.

Art does not reproduce what we see — it makes visible what we too often ignore.

Why a Technical School?

The choice of ITIS De Pretto is deliberate. A technical institute is where the territory’s future workforce is shaped — and it is precisely there that conversations about gender equality matter most.

Clerprem believes that progress is not only technological innovation, but cultural evolution. Promoting gender equality means learning to recognise talent and human value beyond gender, and dismantling the stereotypes that constrain both women and men.

Through direct engagement with the artworks, students had the chance to ask themselves: how is women represented? What stereotypes persist? How can I contribute to a more aware and respectful culture?

The Role of Business in the Community

Clerprem is a manufacturing company based in Carrè, in the province of Vicenza, deeply rooted in its local community. This initiative reflects our vision of corporate social responsibility: not statements, but concrete action.

We believe companies have both the duty and the privilege to contribute to the culture of the communities they operate in. Schools, local families, the next generation — these are the fabric on which the future is built. Being present means choosing to be part of it.

#ClerpremInViaggio continues. The next step will be even bigger.
